Tips & Tricks

Below are a list of tips and tricks that every business owner should know:

  • Content is king. Fresh, unique and well-written content means enhanced SEO that puts you at the top of search results - above the competition if done correctly. Fresh content on your site keeps spiders looking your way and putting you to the top of results - the most involved or active site will always get rewarded over the sitting duck. With that said, a CMS tool is the perfect solution to keep your site ahead of the game while minimizing the costs to do so.

  • Spiders want natural language – not super nerdy or abstract stuff we don’t use in our daily lives. Think of how you would search for your company. Create content and keywords for each file or article that best represent who you are and fit the phrases customers will use in searching for a company like yours.

  • Create links that help spiders navigate your site easily as well as draw visitors deeper into your site. Call-to-action links are a great way to convert visitors into leads!

  • Don’t worry about PageRank. A site with a low PR can actually outrank one with a higher PR.

  • Use SEO friendly URL’s for each page on your site – that means extra parameters like ‘tabid=7498’ in a URL shouldn’t be there. Keep it simple, like 'company.com/products/model'.

  • The more social or personal you get on your site – the better. People browsing the web want to interact with companies and their customers. They want to see for themselves how credible you are. Blogs, forums, comments, galleries and testimonials provide your potential customers with the comfort they seek in factual information.

  • Take advantage of an intranet if you have a group of employees, distributors and/or employees that you’d like to unify and always have on the same page.

  • If you’ve got products to sell in your store, sell them online too. An E-commerce site could bring you a lot of business – one that leads to company expansion!

  • Keep your leads and customers up-to-date on the latest with you by sending out email blasts or newsletters. You’d be surprised how business can pour in over a little email marketing.

  • Assign unique phone numbers to each of your advertisements – then use phone tracking to produce analytics for each of your campaigns so you can truly know when and where your marketing dollars are best spent.

  • Reach out to your virtual visitors with LIVE chatting. Providing online customer service goes a long ways with virtual shoppers – the power behind live chatting is unbelievably underestimated.

  • Provide a company email address for your employees, distributors and customers to interact through. Your image should look and feel professional. A company emailing from Gmail™ or Yahoo!™ Doesn’t come off as very professional – get a ‘@yourcompany.com’ email address set up!
